A Glimpse of Our Garden

Why we started our Garden.

During quarantine babe and I decided to upgrade our garden! Quarantine has inspired us to do a few projects lately! We had created our garden about a year ago and switched out the plants throughout the year! Mostly, because I forgotten to water them.  Whoops! I won’t lie when we first planted the garden I was like ewww dirt and a little more surprised by lizards and bugs! But babe was patient and taught me how to plant flowers, herbs, and veggies in our garden!  It was relaxing and fun minus the creepy crawlers!

The second time we switched out the plants I was a little more hands on! And we planted some winter plants and some Jalapeños and Tabasco peppers!! They were super tasty and the plants did well for a long time! Eventually they got so big that we had to support them with sticks.  We used wood sticks we found near by which ended up being a mistake. The plants ended up getting mites, and it ended up killing the plants.  It was a learning experience. Just as those plants ended up dying our winter flowers did too as it started warming up!  So it was the perfect time to finally replace them! I learned watering plants consistently is crucial and mites will kill your plants. So you have to catch it early. Oh and also don’t grab random sticks to support your plants!

This last time I ripped out the plants and planted a lot more of them than I usually do. (Babe ends up doing a lot of the literal dirty work in helping me plant the plants.) This time he was my assistant instead of the other way around!

We replaced the plants we went with a red, white, and green theme! We also replace the vegetables and added a few new ones that we haven’t tried to grow yet. Find out what we planted below!
