This is my easy makeup routine for going out when you don’t have a lot of time. Just remember to always start with a freshly washed face that has lotion recently applied to it!
Step 1: Primer
Primer is so important because it helps the makeup go on smoother and last longer. It is especially helpful when you are going out because you wouldn’t want to sweat your makeup off dancing the night away. Those are just some of the reasons why I apply primer first. My favorite primer right now is Catrice Cosmetics Prime and Fine Beautifying Primer.
After my face is primed I apply my Estee Lauder Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Foundation in the color Rich Caramel with a makeup sponge. I like to use a makeup sponge because it blends my foundation in better.
Once my foundation is applied evenly I then use the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Eyes Concealer in the color light/natural under my eyes in an upside-down triangle shape. I also apply it on on the top of my nose and just above my eyebrows. Once my concealer is applied in the location I would like it, I blend it in with my makeup sponge.
Step 3: Setting Powder
Next, I use the Make Up For Ever Professional Paris-HD High Definition Powder/ Microfinish Powder and the Essence of Beauty Powder Brush to set my foundation and concealer. Translucent powder helps keep my foundation and concealer from creasing as well as keeps my face from getting too shiny throughout the day.
So Step 4 I find to be the most difficult part about doing my makeup in general, but with practice, it gets easier. Eyebrows can really make or break your makeup look. Having too thin eyebrows looks a bit strange, and eyebrows that look too drawn on don’t look good either. I feel the best look for eyebrows is to make them look as natural as possible. Even though I know how I like my eyebrows, I’m not going to pretend to be an expert on it. I can only tell you what I found to be the easiest for me.
What I find to be super helpful is brushing my brows first and then outlining with the MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Deep Dark Brunette with the Elf Small Angled Brush. I like to start the outline at the middle of my brow and work outwards because it looks more natural when you end up blending it in the end.
Once you have a good outline you can begin to fill in your brows starting with the outside and using what’s left of the brow gel creme to fill in the front portion of your brow. Finally, I use the IsaDora Brow Shaping Gel to keep my brow hairs in place.
Step 5: Bronzer, Highlighter, and Blush
So since the hardest part is over (thank goodness!) I add some color to my face by using the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer under my cheek bones, around the top of my forehead, and on the sides of my nose. I also use the Smashbox Contour Palette and Brush to highlight my face. I apply the highlighter under my eyes, on my cheekbones, and on the top of my nose. After, I use the Mac Pro Long Wear Blush in the color stubborn on my cheekbones to give my cheeks a rosy touch.
Step 6: Eyeshadow
Next, I pick my eyeshadow colors. I feel that eyeshadow colors are important because they can really make your eyes pop or they can make your eyelids look heavy. I have brown eyes I like to use are some kind of gold color, green, or a purple. In this look, I use the gold color over my entire lid from the Naked Urban Decay on the Run Makeup Kit in the color Dive. Then I use the Clinique Darkest Purple from the All About the Shadows Eyeshadow Color Palette in the crease of my eyelid, but be careful you don’t make the crease too dark because it can make your eyelids look heavy.
Step 7:Eyeliner and Mascara
Once my Eyeshadow is done, I then apply my eyeliner from the Naked Urban Decay on the Run Makeup Kit 24/7 Glide on Pencil as a base starting from the inside of my eyes, closest to my nose, working outward. After, I use the same technique to apple Loreal Paris 12 hour Infallible The Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner in black to really define the line. When my eyeliner is done I, apply mascara. Currently, I’m using the Mascara out of the Naked Urban Decay on the Run Makeup Kit because it makes my eyelashes look thicker, and is also one of the only mascaras that doesn’t irritate my eyes. When applying my mascara I like to put on a couple of coats to give my eyelashes a more dramatic effect.
Step 8: Lipstick
After I’m done with my mascara, I move on to my last makeup step which is applying my lipstick. One of my favorite lipsticks and the one I’m using in this look is the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in the color Morning After. This color I feel is best when I’d rather have a less dramatic lip, but still have it look made up. This color may not be for everyone, but there are many other shades of lipstick that will have the same effect. I recommend trying them out before you buy them with the tester in the store to make sure you pick the right color!
And there you have it! My 8 Step Night Out Makeup Look!
