Woke up late? In a hurry? Want to sleep in that extra 15 mins instead of having to match your clothes? Well, you are not alone. Like many other people picking out an outfit for work can be a stressful and sometimes difficult thing. You dig through your closet only to put on an outfit that isn’t the most flattering, and you repeat this process 2-3 times more.  Well have no fear I’m here to give you my lazy day work outfit tips and tricks.

1. Dress

It is a MUST to have a couple go to dresses for days when matching your outfit feels more like a chore than anything else. I recommend having a work little black dress, a great color full print dress, and a maxi dress that looks professional but also super comfortable. My favorite colorful print dress is from Lily Pulitzer and my favorite maxi dress is from Lucky Brand.

2. Ballet Flats and Stellar Heel

These two essentials are a must in your closet because they cover all of your lazy day needs and leave as little matching needed as possible.

For flats, I recommend a nude pointy toe flat because, if you are smaller like me, it will make you look taller. I’d go with nude because it can match your little black dress, your colorful print, or really just about anything. My favorite nude ballet flats are from TargetFor heels, I recommend a heel that’s a bit thicker because they are easier to walk in. I’d also go with a nude heel because it leaves you with more options. My favorite heels are from Gianni Bini.

3. Hair

Laid Back half up half down is my go to look. Wearing my hair all the way down can be time consuming, especially to make it lay just right, which can be the same problem you have when  wearing your hair up. My solution is half up half down. When my hair is straight or curly I like to do this by twisting the front side pieces of my hair and pinning them back. It’s quick easy and still looks like you put effort in, even when it only took you a couple of minutes.

4. Make up

Skip the liquid contouring (yes, I’m guilty of doing it daily) skip the eyeshadow, and skip the highlighter. Foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer, blush, eyeliner, and mascara are the easiest bare minimum makeup that still gives it that polished appeal. And if you are feeling really adventurous, add a nude lip to continue the low key polished look.

And there you have it. My 4 lazy day work outfit tips and tricks that keep you looking polished, but cuts down on the time it takes to get ready.
